Desiree Namachotsa

Hello! My name is Desiree Namachotsa, and I am a dedicated language teacher based in Lilongwe, Malawi. With over 5 years of experience teaching both Chichewa and English, I’ve had the pleasure of working with students from diverse backgrounds and ages, ranging from 8 to 35 years old. I’ve taught at institutions like Lilongwe Girls, Dzaleka Refugees Camp, Mkomachi Secondary School, and Nalikule Demonstration School.

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Education Language with an English major and a minor in Linguistics, along with a TEFL certification and a Cambridge English teaching certificate. My passion for innovative education earned me a grant under education change makers with YALI in Collaboration with the Trevor Noah Foundation to develop creative methodologies in teaching, which I apply to make language learning practical and functional for real-life use.

In my student-centered, interactive teaching approach, I incorporate creativity and a variety of digital tools like Canva and PowerPoint to enhance learning. As an actress, I bring a unique, relatable dynamic to my classes, connecting with students through storytelling and cultural discussions.

In my free time, I enjoy reading, writing, exploring cultural topics, and teaching the arts. I look forward to helping you reach your language learning goals. Let’s make learning both enjoyable and impactful!

Hello, my name is Frank and I’m qualified a Chichewa teacher from Blantyre Malawi.

I have been working in Chichewa and English Schools since 2017 with six years experience specialising in Secondary education, curriculum development, and lesson plan implementation and education technology. I have a proven track record of tailoring instruction to the needs of individual students of all age ranges from 11 to 50 years old. Adept at planning engaging activities to enhance student engagement and drive the development of critical thinking and language acquisition skills.

I have worked with both private and government Chichewa speaking schools which include Blantyre Secondary School, Target Private Schools and Neno CDSS among others.

My name is Laureen Phiso and I am a qualified English and Chichewa teacher form Malawi.

I have a strong back ground in language education with several years of experience helping students of all ages and levels to achieve fluency and confidence. In my lessons, I emphasize interactive, real-life communication and tailor my teaching approach to meet each students’ unique needs and goal.
